It being 2008 and all, HDR was largely pretty new to me when I started work on this series.

I had toyed with it here, and there, but for these I set out to push it as far as was possible, by attempting to create photos with the camera pointed directly into the sun, while still getting detail in the shadows facing the camera.

It took an enormous number of exposures to get the range, and a lot of fiddling to make it look remotely natural, but it can be done.
